Traversus is a young progressive metal band from Emmen (Netherlands) that draws its inspiration from bands like Dream Theater, Leprous, Trivium and Muse. Lead singer and guitarist Madelief de Groot voices sharp criticism of human behaviour and lays bare her own emotions.

Heavy riffs and melodic solos from lead guitarist Joey Wessels are combined with the tight foundation by bassplayer Mika Linde and drummer Liam de Groot. The band makes music that is cleverly composed and arranged, but still has catchy melodic vocals.

In November 2021 the band released their first singles Misplaced and Applauding Lies. They are currently working on a new full length album in cooperation with renowned metal producer Joost van den Broek. In Januari 2023 the band played at Eurosonic in Groningen. Furthermore the band played at Bevrijdingsfestival (Assen), Graspop (Baflo) and SPY festival (Emmen).
